Nelly pointed to a patch of thick vegetation. “Just under there.”
“You go in first followed by Bry and Jessie, with luck Lance will be ready for us”
“What if the guard hasn’t been dealt with?”
Justin snarled, “Then Lance had better hope that he dies in the battle
Lance was bored. “Is this all you do sit around?”
Howie rubbed his shoulders, “Only tonight sweet-pea, Kevin wants us all here for his victory over Joshua.”
Lance shrugged away from his lover’s hands. “I’m going for a walk.” He said, “I’m hungry.” He made his way to the stairwell silently. Picking up a piece of broken timber from the floor he crept noiselessly behind the sentry, ramming the stake home and transforming him to dust. Then he sat back on a small wooden stool and waited.
Nelly nodded to him as he beckoned the rest of the clan down the stairs. “Where’s Justin?” Lance demanded as the dark skinned man towered over him menacingly.
“I’m here.” Justin was dressed in loose black pants and a wife beater.” Where is Joshua?”
The blond pulled a sword from where it hung on the wall and handed it to his sire.
“There is a small room directly through the main chamber, turn the candle holder to the right, a passage will open up. Joshua is being held in there. The stair way is steep and dark. Be careful, Kevin went down there about 15 minutes ago, he is casting a spell on Joshua.”
Justin took a deep breath, drawing himself to his full height and indicated for his minions to ready themselves for the impending attack.
“Everyone is in the main chamber,” Lance informed them. “No one touches Howie, he’s mine understand?” Lance looked to Justin for back up. Justin just nodded. That was good enough.
The vampires charged into the main hall, and Lance stopped Justin with a heavy hand on his shoulder. “Be wary,” he warned “Kevin is a powerful man, he has Joshua on his knees.” In the next room the sounds of the battle rang out. “He may need all his strength to control Josh; but if he doesn’t this could be a very short fight.”
Justin lifted his sword. “Then let the battle commence.” He cried.
Kevin unlocked the door to the cell. “Joshua. Joshua come here now.”
The enslaved vampire took his position in the middle of the room. Kevin threw the small child to the floor and circled the naked man. “Lift your head.” Joshua obeyed swallowing hard. He knew a spell was being cast now, but to what ends he did not know. Kevin took a knife and sliced into his own arm. He wiped his fingers though the blood. He reached out his bloody fingers towards Joshua’s forehead. The brunette recoiled back acting by sheer instinct alone. Kevin reached out seizing Joshua’s mind in his vice like grip, holding him still. He recited an ancient incantation as he drew runes in blood on the brunette vampires clear pale skin, daubing the sacred marks over Joshua’s abdomen. He lit the candle that he had set on a small side table and sprinkled a white powder into the flame. Smoke curled into the air winding it’s way towards Joshua.
“Open your mouth.” The vampires body reacted to Kevin’s will, his eyes showed fear as the smoke wound its way down his throat.
Kevin picked up the child that cowered on the floor without effort, ripping into his jugular, swallowing two mouthfuls before pressing the wound to Joshua’s lips.
The enslaved man tried to resist but Kevin’s voice screamed in his brain demanding him to obey. “DRINK.”
Joshua drank, draining the small boy in a matter of minutes. Sounds of shouting and fighting began to filter down to the cell and suddenly Kevin realised he had to finish this now. He pulled Joshua to him roughly, crushing his mouth under his own, forcing the lighter man to the floor. He held the younger vampire ridged with his mind, he had no time to fight him, he had to have him now while the blood was still warm in his belly. He pulled his prisoners legs apart and crawled between them, all Joshua could do was yield.
